Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

In celebration of the life’s work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on the day named in his honor, we reached out to our tax professionals coast to coast – a group of individuals as diverse as our country, who live and work right in your community – and asked them to share their thoughts. Some of our favorite responses:

"[Dr. King] made me want better for myself, because I am equal to everyone else - not beneath or better, but EQUAL. So I feel that I am capable of doing anything I set my mind to do. Everyone should have a fair shot on their own merit and character. My favorite quote is " Let the work I've done speak for me."
Makeba Thomas-Brownlee, Rockledge, FL

"MLK influenced me by his non-violent philosophy. Because of this I believe that all situations can be dealt with without violence."
Lillian Bell, Midlothian, IL

"Three words: FIGHT. FREEDOM. DREAMS."
Zenna Willis

We know all of our readers have been influenced by Dr. King, his message and his work, in one way or another. We hope you find some time today to reflect on that and how you can continue to carry on his work seeking equality, dignity and justice for all.
