Tax Refund Advance loans have ended for the year

Jackson Hewitt offers an Early Tax Refund Advance Loan which could provide you cash in case of emergency.

The Early Tax Refund Advance was available at select locations from December 16, 2024 until January 12, 2025.

No Fee Tax Refund Advance was available starting January 2, 2025 through February 16, 2025. 

The Early Tax Refund Advance was a convenient way for you to apply for a loan for the holiday season which is paid back by your tax refund. An Early Tax Refund Advance is a loan with a 35.96% Estimated Annual Percentage Rate (APR).

No Fee Tax Refund Advance is a no loan fee, 0% APR loan provided by Republic Bank & Trust Company available at most Jackson Hewitt locations. Clients could apply for a No Fee Tax Refund Advance Loan when they filed taxes at Jackson Hewitt from January 2, 2025 through February 16, 2025.

It depends on the amount of the Tax Refund Advance loan you get.

The Early Tax Refund Advance Loan has a 35.96% Estimated Annual Percentage Rate (APR). It was available starting on December 16, 2024 until January 12, 2025. Outlined below are representative examples of available credit terms for the Early Tax Refund Advance Loan.

The amount of the loan and any interest is deducted from your tax refund reducing the amount paid to you.

No Fee Tax Refund Advance Loans are offered with no loan fee. Loan amounts are between $250 – $3,500. The loan amount is automatically deducted from your tax refund with the remaining refund amount paid to you. No Fee Tax Refund Advance Loans were available after you filed your tax return.

The amount you owe is deducted directly from your tax refund. If your tax refunds are insufficient to pay your loan in full, tax refunds from returns filed in the following tax year with Jackson Hewitt may be applied to repay the outstanding loan balance, if applicable.

In tax season 2025

• Early Tax Refund Advance loan sizes are $100, $300, $500, $1,000, and $1,500 for qualifying clients.
• No Fee Tax Refund Advance loan sizes are $250, $500, $750, $1,000, $1,500, $2,500, $3,000, and $3,500 for qualifying clients.

The Early Tax Refund Advance and No Fee Tax Refund Advance loan options were available at most participating Jackson Hewitt storefronts and all participating Walmarts.

Loans would be disbursed via direct deposit to a bank account of your choice, or a Serve® American Express® Prepaid Card.

If you were approved for a Tax Refund Advance Loan and chose to have it disbursed via a Jackson Hewitt provided prepaid card, you would have received the loan the same day with our Money Today Guarantee – and probably within minutes of being approved ; or, if you chose Direct Deposit, you would have received the loan amount within one to five business days.

No. There is no impact on your credit score if you apply for a Tax Refund Advance.

Clients could be approved for a Tax Refund Advance loan even if they did not have a credit history or if they had been denied credit from other institutions in the past. Loan approval is subject to Republic Bank & Trust Company’s underwriting criteria that is based in part on the size of the client’s tax refund.

When you apply for a Tax Refund Advance loan, underwriting is performed by Republic Bank & Trust Company They consider criteria such as:

• Identity verification 
• Payment history with the IRS 
• Status of education loans, child support, tax liens, etc.
